Abstract. Increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the consumption of primary energy has been the subject of national energy policies in many countries – for some time and for various reasons. This is also true for Ukraine, with its vast supply of renewable energy sources, which are, however, presently used only to the lowest degree. Based on these facts this paper analyzes the current situation in the field of renewable energy sources of Ukraine and proposes certain changes to the legal framework, which would lead to an “energy transition” in Ukraine.
