Saddoun N. Al-Majali, Raafat Abdel salam Tarawneh: The Chinese Position on the Syrian Crisis 2011-2018

Given the Syrian context in particular, there are two main reasons why China may
start to play a more active role in Syria. The first reason is linked to China's concern
about rising numbers of militants from the troubled Uighur region of Xinjiang, who
are currently involved in the Syrian conflict. The other reason is linked to China's
keenness on geostrategic stability in the Middle East as part of China's pursuit of its
"one belt, "He said.

A number of economists have suggested that China's military involvement in Syria
carries an economic dimension to block the West from gaining the lion's share of the
lives of Syria. The major contribution will be to China, as demonstrated by a number
