Khatia Udesian, Dali Sologashvili: Analysis of direct foreign investments in Georgia
METHODOLOGY
A complex approach was used to achieve the set goal and tasks within the scope of
the research. The research was conducted through theoretical-methodological tools,
comparison, synthesis, graphic analysis and statistical grouping methods. Induction
and deduction methods are also used in the research process. Within the framework
of the study, the statistical indicators of direct foreign investments in dynamics are
analysed.
DISCUSSION
Investment flows into Georgia are unsustainable (Sikharulidze და Charaia 2018).
From 2010 to 2022, there is no steady growth of direct foreign investments. In 2014,
its volume was 1,837,980 thousand US dollars, and in 2015-2016 it was decreasing.
In 2017, foreign direct investments in Georgia amounted to 1,990,526 thousand US
dollars, however, in 2020 it significantly decreased and was only 595,257 thousand
US dollars, which was probably caused by the Covid pandemic.

In 2022, the highest rate since 2013 was recorded - 2,097,898 thousand US dollars.
The preliminary data for 2023 is 1594.7 million US dollars.
